The North Coast Combo with Areia Vermelha puts together the Sea Turtle Reserve, Cabedelo Dike and Fort Santa Catarina in the morning, with a catamaran crossing to Areia Vermelha Island — a sandbank that surfaces at low tide off Camboinha. The afternoon closes with the Jacaré Sunset to Ravel's Bolero.
Departure time is set by the tide table to ensure Areia Vermelha is exposed. We handle that and confirm with you the day before.
The morning follows the north coast's historic route: Sea Turtle Nesting Reserve, Cabedelo Dike (river meeting sea) and Fort Santa Catarina, colonial era.
Then comes the most anticipated part. Catamaran boarding heading to Areia Vermelha Island — a sandbank that only appears at low tide, surrounded by natural pools of crystal-green water. The catamaran has a water slide, onboard bar and grill; the crossing gives you time to relax and take in the north coast from a different angle.
On the island, you step off, walk the sandbank, swim in the natural pools and photograph the scene that went viral on social media. Marine life nearby, warm water, clear bottom. When the tide starts rising, the catamaran heads back.
